Swimming

For the last two weeks we have been going to Cannon Creek Pool for our swimming lessons. All of the children have enjoyed themselves and I have seen their confidence build. I will be posting photos of our time at the pool.

Onomatopoeia Signs

This term we have been looking at Onomatopoeia words and what they mean. These are words that imitate the sound it represents. The children brainstormed the words they knew that did this then the chose one and created these lovely pieces of art work.

Room 4's Post on Monday, 28 November 2016

I'm room 4 we have been looking at how to write instructions and why we need to. We wrote instructions on how to make a jam sandwich and then we published them. Come and have a look at our instructions they are outside our class.

Writing Instructions

In our writing we are learning how to write instructions. 

Today the class made butter from cream and then we ate it with some bread. As a class we wrote how to make butter. 

Classifying 

In maths we have been looking at classifying. The class worked in groups and had to come up with reasons why they groups a variety of objects. 

Quick as Cricket retold by Room 4

In Room 4 we have been looking at similes. We used a book called Quick as Cricket by Audrey Wood.


The children had to think what animal they were like and how they acted or behaved as that animal.
Then they drew a picture to show where we might find their animal. Then they had to draw their animal.

After they did that we used the app Explain Everything, to take photos of the backgrounds, animals and themselves and then we created a picture of them with their animal. The children then recorded what they wrote.
